From its modest beginnings as a small technical school in 1920, the Harbin Institute of Technology has since emerged as one of the leading universities in the People¡¯s Republic of China and receiving international acclaim as well.
H.I.T.¡¯s faculty of 2,885 (including 18 members of the Chinese Academy of Science and/or Engineering) serves a student population of 40 thousand. Bold and innovative in social and scientific research, H.I.T. has been designated as one of ¡°China¡¯s¡± key national universities, receiving ¡°211 Project¡± preferential funding.
Over the past 85 years, our graduates have assumed prominent positions in the public and private sector in law, engineering, science, economics, government, and management. Today¡¯s students draw upon this legacy to position themselves to play key roles, both domestically and internationally, in the 21st Century.
